Ingredients

  • 1-2 pounds Ground Beef (80%- 93% lean or ground turkey)
  • 3/4 cup panko bread crumbs.
  • 3/4 cup ketchup, divided.
  • 1/2 cup minced onion.
  • 2 cloves garlic.
  • 1 egg.
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce.
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic.
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme.
  • 1 teaspoon sage.
  • 3/4 teaspoon pepper.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt.
  • 1/4 cup water (or low-fat milk)

Preparation and Cooking

  1. At first, preheat your oven to 350 F.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together all of the ingredients (Ground Beef, bread crumbs, 1/2 cup ketchup, onion, egg, Worcestershire, garlic, thyme, pepper, and salt). Mix well, using your hands, but don’t over mix because you will toughen the meat.
  3. Turn mixture into an 8 x 4-inch or 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  4. Place your pan on a rimmed baking sheet to catch any drips, and bake for 45 to 55 minutes or 1 hour.
